Fractus at MWC 2025 with innovation, intellectual property and technological future

A few weeks ago, Fractus participated in the Mobile World Congress (MWC), specifically in the 4YFN space, the epicenter of entrepreneurship and technological innovation. For four days, Barcelona became the meeting point for transformative ideas, inspiring conversations, and technologies that are shaping the future.

In this context, our CEO, Jordi Ilario, participated alongside Irene Gómez Alemany, CEO of Keybotic, in a round table moderated by Elia Sugrañes entitled “The Protection of Innovation in the ICT Sector.” The session offered a unique perspective that combined the experience of an established company such as Fractus with the agile and disruptive vision of a growing startup such as Keybotic.

The debate focused on a key issue for the technological ecosystem: how to protect innovation in a world where ideas evolve at breakneck speed. Among the topics discussed, the following questions stood out: Do patents really attract investors? Is it better to protect innovation globally or focus on strategic markets? Can patents become a source of income? Is it too expensive for a startup to patent?

For entrepreneurs, engineers, and startups, these questions are essential. Because in a market where artificial intelligence, robotics, and virtual reality are advancing by leaps and bounds, it is not enough to innovate; the key is knowing how to protect those innovations and turn them into sustainable business assets.

At Fractus, we believe that intellectual property (IP) is not just a defensive tool, but a driver of growth that allows startups to compete on equal terms, attract investment, and generate global impact. We would like to thank the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), ACCIÓ, and the MWC organization for promoting an event that fosters networking, business growth, and the dissemination of game-changing ideas.
